A vibrant and powerful performer, Danny Toeman has become a staple of UK’s soul scene and beyond. Dubbed the ‘King of North London Soul’, his gravel tones combined with an altitude-defying falsetto set him apart, creating a sound oozing with character and emotion. Filled to the brim with feel-good funky soul, Danny’s shows are guaranteed to make you get on up, and shake the blues outta your shoes! He has supported famed soul/funk acts including Kool & The Gang, Betty Wright and Charles Bradley, performed at such venues including the o2 Arena, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Roundhouse, and headlined sold out shows with his backing band, the Love Explosion. His music has been championed on BBC 6 Music and BBC Introducing by DJs including Craig Charles and Robert Elms. In the midst of 2020, Danny collaborated with independent UK Vinyl licensing label LRK Records and released the highly successful vinyl record, ‘She’s Got Something About Her’, which sold out within 3 months of release. 2022 was a banner year for Danny; not only was he the winner of Cambridge Club Festival’s Live and Local Contest, but he was selected to be the main stage opening act for Diana Ross! His music releases also gained notoriety, including his first spin on BBC Radio 2, national radio play in France, Spain, the Netherlands and Portugal, reaching #11 on the Official UK Soul Chart, and getting placed on a much sought after Spotify Editorial Playlist. He ended the year with a sold out co-headline Soul Revue show at the famous 100 Club, and a week of shows in Berlin, Germany. In 2023, Danny was invited back by Cambridge Club Festival, to be the opening act for Lionel Richie, and is heading to Toronto to perform at the NXNE Festival.
Situated on the site of one of Englands oldest pubs, with evidence of pints being sold as early as 1533, we have tried our best to continue that authentic feel of a London pub whilst bringing the fun of a 21st century night out to the heart of Wandsworth.
