Having shared decks with world-class artists and festival stages across the country, Jay Murt's eclectic record collection promises an engaging night of forward-thinking electronic music. The Liars Lounge, the vibrant sister venue to The Liars Club, sits on the top floor of Cane & Grain in Manchester's Northern Quarter. Having held down a residency with Liverpool heavyweight ‘ENRG’ since the event began 6 years ago, Blehrin has been part of the furniture in the North of the UK for some time. Being the solo resident for this series of electronic experiences has seen him share the stage with some of the best artists the world has to offer including Jon Hopkins, The Black Madonna, Peggy Gou, Floating Points, Tale of Us, Four Tet, Daniel Avery and Bicep to name but a few. This eclectic mix of bookings requires his record collection to be diverse and forward thinking - a collection that has been built up and influenced by a host of different genres including funk, jazz, electronica and hip hop. Outside of his ENRG residency, over the years Blehrin has had the pleasure of playing at some of the most well respected venues around such as Mint Warehouse, Ministry of Sound, The Arches, Sankeys and The Button Factory. He has also graced the stages of festivals such as Mint Festival, Gottwood, Parklife and Glastonbury. More recently, he again joined forces with life long friend Josh Butler, creating their moniker ‘Norwood’. Their first release coming on R&S Records sister label ‘Apollo Records’. A 4 track EP that brings together both of their influences and delves into the deeper realms of electronica. As a promoter, Blehrin ran parties around the North of England under his brand ‘Macooza’, bringing the party to all sorts of weird and wonderful locations. Guests included the likes of Adam Shelton and Lazare Hoche.
Cane & Grain is a 3 floored venue situated in the heart of NQ the top floor is home to The Liars Lounge, our party bar which is the little sister of the famous The Liars Club. The DJ is required for the Liars Lounge a popular, busy venue playing everything from R'n'B, Hip hop, grime, pop & house.
