Jon Mackenzie is a guitarist, singer and songwriter from Edinburgh. Jon plays a variety of guitar styles and has built his own sound over 30 years of playing. His style has led to session work with Kyle Falconer (The View), Alabama 3, Horse, Ashley Campbell, Colonel Mustard, JJ Gilmour and Fay Fife (Rezillos) to name a few. Recently he played pedal steel on the song ‘Riverside,’ by Barrie James featuring Lana Del Rey. His main gig is playing guitar and writing with Kirsten Adamson. Jon also works regularly in musical theatre in recent shows such as ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ ‘The Stamping Ground’ and the award winning ‘Janis Joplin Full Tilt.’ Jon also plays solo acoustic gigs doing covers and requests from his ever growing and extensive back catalogue.
