Gemma is a professional saxophonist and clarinettist from London, England. She graduated with a BMUS degree (hons) from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2012. Gemma is a highly accomplished player in both Classical and Jazz, as well as Swing, Pop and Funk. She is very well-versed in both sight reading and improvisation. Her influences include the luscious, velvety sounds of Ben Webster as well as the emphatic pro sounds of Michael Brecker and David Sanborn. Gemma represented her country in the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain at the tender age of 17, and has been playing professionally for the last 10 years at a variety of functions, including weddings and corporate events at venues like the Hilton Hotel in Tower Bridge. She most recently opened for a very highly-regarded cooking business, @tarasvegantreats. Gemma would like to continue her work in bringing venues to life through her first-class performances as part of function bands, as well as in her solo background music, and her DJ Sax performances.
