About this event

HEN K brings his distinctive deep house and soul sound to Mala Secret Garden this season. The Manchester-based DJ, born in the Midlands, draws inspiration from the rich legacy of U.S. dance culture — weaving together jazz-laced rhythms, Detroit soul, and the raw energy of garage and broken beat. His sets flow seamlessly between warm, emotive textures and driving percussion, creating an experience built on groove and feeling rather than flash.

With influences ranging from the cosmic touch of house pioneers to the live sensibility of jazz-funk innovators, HEN K crafts sets for dancers, diggers, and deep listeners alike. Expect a journey through vintage soul, early house, and contemporary underground sounds — all delivered with the soulful touch that defines his approach to DJing.

Join us at Mala, Manchester's newest alfresco haven on Dale Street, for an evening of fluid, emotive music and good vibes. Whether you're here to dance or simply soak in the atmosphere, HEN K's carefully curated sets promise to keep the energy grounded in authenticity and soul.

About the Artist

Based in Manchester, hen.k is a Midlands-born DJ whose sound pays deep homage to the roots of U.S. dance culture — from the jazz-laced rhythms of early house to the raw soul of Detroit, whilst embracing the bruk and garage scene. Drawing from a palette of jazz, deep house, broken beat, and vintage soul, hen.k. crafts fluid, emotive sets that nod to the legacy of loft parties while staying locked into the pulse of today's underground. Influenced by the deep grooves of New York's dancefloors, the cosmic touch of artists like Ron Trent, and the live sensibility of jazz-funk innovators, hen.k.'s style is rooted in feeling - groove over hype, soul over spectacle. His sets are built for dancers, diggers, and deep listeners alike, flowing effortlessly between warm textures and percussive drive.
