Nazeem Duo brings their vibrant Afrocoustic sound to The Wharf this season, blending African grooves with Western influences across an eclectic repertoire spanning 80s, 90s, R&B, classical, reggae and world music. Based in Rossendale, this prolific singer-songwriter and guitarist from The Gambia harnesses the transformative power of music to create an unforgettable evening. With a professional drummer bringing jembe and conga rhythms to the mix, their duo performances deliver dynamic energy and infectious groove that will get you moving.

Nazeem is a prolific singer song writer and guitarist from the Gambia west Africa and he uses the transformative power of music to build resilience and positive change within communities and amongst young people his unique style of music AFROCOUSTIC blend where Afro meets western groove has brougt a new discovery of sound to music loves, a few of his highlighted performances are performance to HRH princess Anne 125 year’s celebrations LSTM, 10 years of Albert Hall Manchester, performance for the Mandela family, Ronnie Scott’s jazz club London with osibisa, Womad main stage 2022, philharmonic music room Liverpool with Africa oye and many other high class performances. His duo performances are a higher level of energy and groove with a professional drummer who plays the jembe and congas to spice up the groove, be the first to enjoy this slice of musical paradise.
Although the Wharf is a large building, there are innumerable nooks and crannies so you can find cosy, intimate rooms and alcoves, or more buzzy, dynamic areas if you prefer. Downstairs is more pub service in style, with several cask ales on the bar, a decent wine list with something for everyone, forty gins and over a fifty malts. Upstairs is more restaurant, with full table service. Our chefs develop really cracking menus which change frequently to reflect the seasons. We have a large terrace which is a really popular place to eat in Manchester with stunning views out over the canal basin.
