Having cut his teeth within Manchester's underground bass music scene and refined his ear through five years at the legendary Eastern Bloc Records, Silasthedon is known for technically accomplished vinyl sets that showcase a deep understanding of music culture. SILASTHEDON IS A MANCHESTER-BASED PRODUCER AND MULTI- GENRE DJ WHOSE APPROACH IS ROOTED IN RECORD CULTURE, SOUNDSYSTEM HERITAGE AND A LIFELONG DEDICATION TO DIGGING FOR MUSIC. VINYL-FOCUSED AT HEART, HE HAS SPENT OVER A DECADE BUILDING A COLLECTION THAT NOW EXCEEDS 2,000 RECORDS, SPANNING EVERYTHING FROM DUBSTEP, GRIME AND UK BASS MUSIC TO HOUSE, DISCO, SOUL, JAZZ, FUNK, AFROBEAT, HIPHOP AND BEYOND. SINCE FIRST BUYING RECORDS AT THE AGE OF 13, MUSIC HAS BECOME BOTH A PASSION AND A CRAFT. WHILE STUDYING ELECTRONIC MUSIC PRODUCTION & PERFORMANCE AT SPIRIT STUDIOS, SILASTHEDON BEGAN ESTABLISHING HIMSELF WITHIN MANCHESTER'S BASS MUSIC COMMUNITY, EARNING A REPUTATION FOR TECHNICALLY ACCOMPLISHED VINYL SETS AND A DEEP UNDERSTANDING OF UNDERGROUND DANCE MUSIC CULTURE. HIS BROAD MUSICAL KNOWLEDGE WAS FURTHER SHAPED THROUGH MORE THAN FIVE YEARS WORKING AT EASTERN BLOC RECORDS, ONE OF MANCHESTER'S MOST RESPECTED INDEPENDENT RECORD STORES. IMMERSED DAILY IN NEW RELEASES, REISSUES AND DECADES OF DANCE MUSIC HISTORY, THE EXPERIENCE HELPED REFINE HIS TASTE AND DEVELOP A UNIQUELY WIDE- RANGING PERSPECTIVE ON MUSIC.
