About the Artist

Hi I’m Steve Pubus I started DJing when I was 15 playing at brinkburn community centre in the schools dinner hour every Friday 😂 and then got asked off the teachers to do the Christmas school disco which I did haha By the time I was 17 I started giving out mix tapes to pubs and clubs in south shields it was then I got asked to work for Big Andy in Kirkpatricks which I did for a little bit Then I got a job in the Tunnel Club in South Shields in 1989 just as house and dance music started kicking off it was then I realised the love ❤️ I had for house music I used to go to trax records in high bridge street Newcastle every Saturday with Steven Dunn as we shared the similar tastes in music I’d love getting new tracks ready to play on the sat night in the club the best feeling was when you drop a new tune and everyone went mental 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻the Tunnel days for me were some of the best times I had after that I was totally in love with dance music Then came Obriens working for John Angus what a great little bar this was and at a great time for pubs and clubs in shields one of the busiest bars at the time you could not get moved as John let me play what I wanted and it worked big time it’s there I met a lot of friends who I’m still friends with now then he opened Flanagans where I worked for a couple of years again another great bar as John would let me play what I wanted to a degree 🤣🤣🙈 Next I went to Magaluf in Majorca where I did two seasons back to back 95-96 again some of the best days of my life lol working in the prince william the stop bar and finally got a try at the famous bcm nightclub 😂🙈 those that know know lol So came back to uk feeling like I’d learnt a lot DJing wise abroad next was DJing back in shields for a while then I got asked to Dj a bar called Flynns on the quayside where I was for a good few years again great times and shindig was at the riverside 🎶 where I used to go most Saturdays to see some of the best djs in the world playing the best music in the world Then I ended up in Sunderland firstly at privilege and brogans then onto vision then ttonic then I opened my dj agency platinum promotions with Phil Jackson looking after the best DJs in the north east then came the glass spider and the point which I opened with the DJs I had working for me I’ve loved DJing from the age of 15 and I’m lucky enough to still be doing it every now and again at 54 with some great DJs I’ve met over the years
