Generator’s Music Futures Social: Powered by GigPig

The Music Future Summit will be welcoming the future of music to the North East with some of the music industry’s leading lights with an insightful day of panels, discussions and presentations to launch Generator’s innovative Music Industry Advisory Group.

The Summit will bring together some of the music industry’s leading lights and will focus on how Generator, its partners and the creative community in the North East will deliver on its vision to create a sustainable music industry in the region that ensures access for all.

It will look to address the challenges and opportunities facing artists and the wider creative supply chain, whilst providing a fascinating insight into the industry and its plans for the future. The social event powered by GigPig, will provide an exciting network opportunity where industry leaders will be accompanied by live music from the amazing Soulful vocalist Georgia May, accompanied by Daps on the keyboard, as well as food, and of course, celebratory refreshments.

One of the panels includes GigPig’s Co-Founder and Head of Music, Andy Garner, where there will be a discussion exploring what the future can and must look like for the region and the next generation of talent.

Speaking about the partnership with Generator, Andy said: “I'm delighted to have been invited to participate on a panel full of such important voices within the music community.

“Our mission is to democratise the music industry, focusing particularly on the hospitality sector at the moment.”

“There is a real opportunity here to start the conversation, combine all of our skills and utilise our positions within the industry and set about making a real difference for the artists throughout the UK.”

“There is so much synergy between GigPig and Generator and there is huge potential for a partnership between the two companies to have a real impact on the scene.”

“GigPig is focused on stabilising and digitising the music industry within the hospitality industry, creating more gigs and revenue for artists which in turn helps to support them throughout their creative processes.”

The event will include the announcement of a host of exciting partnerships for Generator, including the Rio Ferdinand Foundation and Warner Music UK which will be joining the existing partnership with The Ivors Academy.

Generator will also introduce its landmark skills programme in partnership with the North of Tyne Combined Authority, which will see the creation of a series of groundbreaking vocational qualifications designed to directly plug the widening skills gap within the music industry and prevent North East talent from feeling they must relocate to London and the South East to further their career.

The business already has a longstanding reputation for developing exceptional new artists, creative enterprises and business opportunities, connecting people & communities for the development of the creative industries in the North East, and this event truly amplifies the amazing work that they are doing for the music industry.
