Why book a pianist or keyboardist for your venue?

The piano or keyboard can be upbeat and toe-tapping or create a gentle backing soundtrack. Pianists and keyboardists add ambience to a space and can adapt their tone to suit the audience. They can offer a charming welcome in hotel lobbies, provide elegant background music in dining areas, or bring a vibrant vintage feel to bars and pubs.

Pianos are sizable instruments, so pianists rarely bring their own. In some cases, they may bring a keyboard instead. As such, to book a pianist, you will usually need to already have a piano (or suitable keyboard setup) available at your venue.

To find the ideal professional artist for your live music venue, it’s worth understanding the variety of pianists or keyboardists available. It’s a more versatile instrument than you might first think!
Jazz pianists

Perfect for creating a relaxed yet cheerful setting, jazz pianists can accompany drinks receptions, bring a touch of style to cocktail bars, and even offer some improvisation. You can book a contemporary jazz pianist or look for performers who focus on a vintage swing sound — ideal for 1920s-style speakeasy venues.

Classical pianists

If you want to book a pianist who offers a traditional, sophisticated sound, classical performers are the way to go. You can book a classical pianist to create a calm and refined atmosphere - ideal for corporate dinners, formal awards ceremonies, and private events such as weddings.

Keyboardists

Keyboard players offer maximum flexibility and are a great option for venues. Many keyboardists can cover a wide range of sounds and styles, from piano and electric piano to synths, making them suitable for everything from background music to high-energy live performances. You can book keyboardists for pop, rock, soul, funk, jazz, and electronic styles. Their portable setup makes them ideal for smaller venues, stages with limited space, and venues that require quick setup and sound versatility.

Pop and rock pianists

Are you looking for an instrumental take on popular hits? With a pop and rock pianist, your guests can enjoy a chilled yet familiar sound. This type of artist can be a great addition to a wide range of events and venues, with set lists tailored to your requirements.

Piano vocalists

Whether you’re curating a cabaret at a theatre or booking a performer for a regular slot to welcome guests to your restaurant on a Friday night, a talented piano singer can provide vocals and instrumentation. Find a pianist singer to book and get the best of both worlds!
